Which flight experience?

Want to fly yourself? On a scenic flight you sit next to the pilot as a guest and enjoy the view. If you want to take the controls, book the trial flight at the flight school (approx. 15 min with an instructor, €70).

Prefer a photo flight with photo hatch? The price depends on the route – ask us or simply give a gift amount.

Date

After your purchase you call us and we find a date together. We'll tell you then exactly when to arrive.

What to wear

Comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes and sunglasses. Bring your phone or camera – secured with a wrist strap.

Requirements

Up to 120 kg body weight, able to sit safely with the belt fastened, fit and sober. Minors need a parent's or guardian's consent.

Before take-off

Your pilot shows you the aircraft, explains the belt, headset and procedure and talks you through the route.

Weather

The pilot decides whether we fly. If the weather is unsuitable, we arrange a new date free of charge.

Photo flights with photo hatch

For photographers and anyone who wants professional aerial shots of their property, construction site or community: one of our aircraft has a dedicated photo hatch in the side window – images with no reflections.

Allow 5–10 extra minutes of photo time depending on the target. Price by distance – we are happy to quote.

Frequently asked questions

Does the purchase reserve a date?
No. Dates are arranged after purchase by phone (+49 1556 33 888 77) or email. All flights depend on suitable weather and operating conditions.
How does the recipient book the flight?
Simply call (+49 1556 33 888 77) or email info@flugplatz-weimar.com with the voucher code. We then agree on a date together.
How long is the voucher valid?
Three years, counted from the end of the year of purchase. The date is printed on the voucher.
What if the weather is bad?
Safety first: if the weather is unsuitable, we arrange a new date free of charge. The pilot decides whether a flight goes ahead.
Can two people fly together?
Each aircraft carries one guest next to the pilot. With the duo flight, two guests take off at the same time – in two aircraft, each with their own pilot, side by side within sight.
What is the difference between a scenic flight and a trial flight?
On a scenic flight you are a guest: the pilot flies, you enjoy the view and take photos. On a trial flight you take the controls yourself – the instructor explains, you fly, approx. 15 minutes for €70. It is your first flying lesson and counts towards your training. More about the trial flight
Do I have to choose a date when buying?
No. The recipient arranges the date with us later.
Are there weight or age limits?
For technical reasons, guests up to 120 kg body weight can fly; you also need to be able to sit safely with the seat belt fastened. Minors need the consent of a parent or guardian. If you have health concerns, please ask us beforehand.
Can children fly along?
Yes, if they can sit safely with the seat belt fastened and a parent or guardian agrees. If in doubt, just call us beforehand.
Is the voucher transferable?
Yes. It can be passed on to someone else.
What if the recipient cannot use the voucher?
The voucher can then be transferred to another person free of charge. No cash payment. For online purchases the statutory right of withdrawal applies – see the cancellation policy.
Are there any additional costs?
The price is final and includes 19% VAT. The flight video is optional – depending on flight time €29 (20 min), €39 (30 min) or €59 (60 min); for a duo flight €49 or €69 for both aircraft. With a value voucher you add the video when booking your date. If an agreed date is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, a cancellation fee applies (see terms).
How quickly will I receive the voucher?
By email as a PDF once payment has been received. For orders by phone or email, we send it as soon as payment has arrived.
Can I print the voucher?
Yes, the PDF is print-ready – perfect for wrapping.
Where does the flight depart from?

Can I come for a scenic flight from Erfurt or Jena?
Of course. The airfield is on the B87 near Weimar, between Erfurt and Jena – a short drive from both cities, with parking right at the airfield. Directions
May I take photos and videos myself?
Yes, of course – please secure your phone or camera with a wrist strap. If you would rather keep your hands free, add the flight video.
Can I change or upgrade the experience later?
Just ask us when arranging the date – switching to a larger package is possible by paying the difference.
